Who does Concert for
|
Concert for a Cause supports the advancement of music therapy programs at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. Our first concert provided mounted Bluetooth CD players in patient room on the CIRU floor along with iTunes gift cards, and headphones to over 50 patients. Our second concert began funding a project creating take home music therapy bags for all types of patients benefitting from music therapy. The bags contained information about how to continue music therapy without an official music therapist present as well as ideas for music activities at home, and small instruments for the children to use.

Concert for a Cause: Music Therapy began as Caroline Buckner's Girl Scout Gold Award Take Action Project in 2013. She worked with contacts at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta, Girl Scouts of Greater Atlanta and local businesses in the Metro Atlanta area to hold the first charity concert for Concert for a Cause in June of 2014. Now Concert for a Cause has both local, national and international sponsors, fundraises year round, and holds annual summer charity concerts to continue their support of Children's Healthcare of Atlanta.
